Our families are big and extend across the country.
Keith's parents, Grandpa E and Grandma M, live in California, but visit Minnesota many times during the year. Grandpa E loves to golf, but that hobby might even be second to the time he devotes to chasing his grandchildren around with his video camera. We figure he must have 1 billion hours of kids singing, dancing, playing with toys and saying, "Grandpa, turn off the camera!" Grandma M loves to have long conversations with the grandkids about whatever they love at the moment -- from Sesame Street to sports. She's a fantastic listener and a very encouraging grandmother.
Keith's older brother, his wife, their son and daughter live not far away from us in Minneapolis. Keith's nephew and niece, Cousin K and Cousin S, both love hockey and soccer, love to take pictures, sing and play.
Keith's extended family -- his aunts, uncles, cousins and their children -- live around the country, but those who live in town are always so welcoming for holiday celebrations. Our annual New Year's Day tradition is to visit his aunt and uncle's home for a homemade sushi feast.
Lynne's parents, Grandpa J and Grandma S, live in a Minneapolis suburb about 20 minutes away. Grandpa J loves the outdoors, baseball, woodworking and house projects (building stuff) and he just retired so he has lots of time to enjoy his hobbies and his grandkids. Grandma S enjoys gardening, volunteering, house projects, cooking and watching her grandchildren. She takes care of Lynne's brother's children before and after school nearly every day and she can't wait to help with Keith and Lynne's new little addition.
Lynne's younger brother, his wife (both teachers), their son and twin daughter and son live in a Minneapolis suburb. Cousin O has an amazing imagination and loves to read, Cousin A loves basketball and wants to be a rock star and Cousin P loves dress up and positively devours books.
Many members of Lynne's extended family live in Minnesota. She is lucky to have her grandmothers live "up north" and visits frequently. It's fun to have summer visits with aunts and uncles at their house on a lake and every Thanksgiving is spent around a very long table cracking jokes and playing board games.
Every single member of Keith and Lynne's family is so excited to meet the newest family member and has been incredibly supportive. We look forward to adding another little chair to all those silly fun celebrations.
